War Games was everything you could have dreamed of and more. When this war ended and it was a war, it makes me very excited for the future of NXT. I will briefly breakdown the matches but real quick I have to say, they were all great matches and Dusty would have been proud.
Lars Sullivan def. Kassius Ohno
So this match was exactly what I thought it would be, a hard hitting heavyweight battle. A great start to the show that really set the pace for the entire night. Lars remains the monster of NXT while Ohno came the closest of anyone on the roster to beating this beast.
Aleister Black def. The Velveteen Dream
Wow!!! What a match this was. I wasn’t giving Velveteen enough credit before this match. He sure has my respect now as well as Aleister’s. There was some spectacular striking on display as well as some unique moves from Velveteen. That ddt he hit was insane! It will be interesting to see what happens next for these two.
Ember Moon def. Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce and Kairi Sane to become NXT Women’s Champion
Ember Moon finally gets her title run but the question is, for how long? The NXT Women’s Division is full of talented women. For now though, this match was good but could have been a bit longer in my opinion.
Andrade “Cien” Almas def. Drew McIntyre to become the new NXT Champion
It is about time. Cien needs to have a nice long title run. I know a rematch is coming but keep Cien the champ until a better baby face comes along. Maybe some like Cole or Strong. A triple threat match would be awesome with those 3.
Undisputed ERA def. Sanity, Authors of Pain & Roderick Strong to win WarGames
I could talk about this for days.. But to keep it short and sweet it was an absolute war. When the dust settled it looked like everyone lost. Bodies, blood and weapons laying around everywhere. Does anyone actually “win” a war? Undisputed ERA made a statement with this historic win and I can’t wait to see where NXT goes from here.
As always Thank You for reading!
